ADHD & it’s many layers.

ADHD is much more than ‘attention issues’.

When you oscillate between being able to develop a business plan in 10 minutes to feeling like you physically cannot fold the laundry, it can be frustrating to hear the challenges minimised to “attention issues”.

ADHD can affect your social interactions, relationships, emotion regulation, and your self-identity or relationship to yourself. But without awareness of this, ADHD can feel like a whirlpool of issues, deficits and inadequacies.

This is why recognising, cultivating and unlocking the strengths of ADHD is an important part of our approach to ADHD therapy.

Read more about the many layers of ADHD here, but only if you’re also reading about the strengths of ADHD here.

Meet Immie.

As a psychologist with lived experience of ADHD, I bring both clinical expertise and personal insight to my approach. I understand the unique challenges neurodivergent individuals experience - not just from a textbook, but from a personal understanding.

I was not able to use medication in my journey due to chronic health challenges, so I have a deep empathy towards those who are seeking a natural solution, however I’m excited to work with you regardless of whether you’ve chosen medication or not.

Through my personal journey, I’ve been able to restore an equilibrium and attain complete acceptance of the dichotomy of ADHD - recognising both the challenges and the strengths it brings. We can achieve much more peace with this component of ourselves when we see that alongside these challenges are the various strengths that are unique to ADHD.

I walk beside you with a compassionate, strengths-based approach that is grounded in evidence-based therapies. By creating a non-judgemental space, I’m privileged to work alongside people in creating meaningful change in their lives, tailored to their specific goals, values and needs.
